Step into the Ancient World: A Free Walking Tour of Ephesus’ Timeless Wonders
ABOUT THE Free Tour of Ancient Ephesus
This tour is operated by our partner Free Walking Tours Ephesus.
Discover the breathtaking ruins of Ephesus, a UNESCO World Heritage site and once a thriving hub of the Roman Empire. This Free Walking Tour takes visitors on a journey through history, exploring grand structures, marble streets, and legendary monuments. Guided by a knowledgeable local expert, travelers will immerse themselves in the rich stories of philosophers, emperors, and merchants who once walked these same paths.
From the Library of Celsus to the Great Theatre
The tour begins at the impressive Magnesia Gate, leading into a city of architectural marvels. Walk through the remains of bustling streets, stopping at the Odeon, a small but grand theater, and the Temple of Domitian, one of the few temples dedicated to an emperor. Marvel at the intricate carvings of the Temple of Hadrian and admire the grandeur of the Trajan Fountain. As the journey unfolds, visitors will stand before the iconic Library of Celsus, once home to over 12,000 scrolls, and the awe-inspiring Great Theatre, where 25,000 spectators once gathered for performances and gladiator fights.
A Must-Do Experience for History Enthusiasts and Culture Seekers
